Recorded
straight to analog and only released in a vinyl format,
Relapse is the realest studio recording of the Eastern Seaboard
(Brent Bagwell, tenor saxophone; Seth Nanaa, drums; and
Jordon Schranz, double bass) to reach the surface. With
all the energy of the live performance, the tunes are twilit
and forbidding – tough as nails. Nothing is held back.
They take each of the 13 tracks to task: pushing things
up and out with the fire of Coltrane's Meditations, the
drive of the Chicago math-rock sound of the 90's, and the
sneer of early Sonic Youth.

An
exorcism of sorts, Ghosts is an autobiography from the Eastern
Seaboard (Brent Bagwell, tenor saxophone; Seth Nanaa, drums; Jordon
Schranz, double bass) documenting their evolution over the last
five years. Listeners get a peek at recordings from a range of
sources – radio and stage performances, early rehearsals
– all inter-mixed with heavy studio sessions venturing ever
further into the Experimental, a walk to the well of sound manipulation,
whispering in the ears of the likes of Aphex Twin, Black Dice,
Yoko Ono, John Cage, and Anthony Braxton.

Revolt Now? is a call to arms for adventurous music
